This was held at Little Lever Working Mens Club – we were honoured to have on this occasion another Crufts judge and NW Member Paul Stanway – pictured here with his Judge’s gift – by special request, but what was it?
Unfortunately this event was effected by an outbreak of kennel cough – several regulars dogs were suffering – and this massively impacted on the number of dogs attending – only 4!!
Liz Stanway brought two young puppies, Paul Sutcliffe and Coral and (all the way from Cockerham) Olivia Caprani with Fire.
Fortunately the owners turned up – well some anyway – so the number of humans exceeded 20 – just as well seeing as Claire Crossman, supported by others, had amassed a small mountain of food.
We should also be grateful that Claire produced a raffle every bit as good as the ones we have at the shows these days; not to mention the prizes for the winning dogs and the array of rosettes – A++ for effort Claire.
The Run-off
Round 1 – Olivia with Fire and Pat with one of the Waystaff puppies
Winner of Round 1 – Fire
Round 2 – winner (left) Chris Howard with one of the Waystaff puppies beating Coral
Final (already) – Winner Fire
The winner – Fire with her winnings
Fancy Dress
We were treated to a new judge for the Fancy Dress – Elvis Presley
A fifth dog turned out for this competition – Jessica’s Mum!!
That’s her moving down the mat
Must be a good mover – this combination won
The raffle next – everyone’s a winner
Followed by the refreshments
Including a special training class cake – gratis Jessica (what’s that person doing in the background?)
The image on the cake was taken at the previous training class held in mid November
A few shots of the ringside
I think I must have upset Dawn! But here’s a happy chappy
And so he should be – he won the Best Adult handler for 2019, having won it last year as well.
The Best Puppy award for 2019 went to Derek Shaw – he’s come on leaps and bounds, attending all the Training class dates throughout the year.
Whilst on the awards theme we usually present the venue manager with a little something – 2019 was no different, pictured here with Tec Norton and Claire Crossman
Finally, the judges gift – the big reveal
And that was it for 2019 – lets hope that next year we enjoy a few more dogs.
