This was held at the Over Hulton Conservative Club,
St Helens Rd, Over Hulton, Bolton BL5 1AA
on Sunday 29th January 2023 at 11.00 am
The main business of the meeting was to elect the Officers and Committee for 2023
The following were elected:- President – Archie Bryden; Chairman – Roy Day ; Secretary – Claire Crossman; Treasurer – Tec Norton; Vice Chairman – Geoff Boote; Show Secretary – Vicki Butler; Membership – Dave Butler; Publicity Officer – Bev Harrison.
Former Treasurer Jan Matthews was presented with a super gift and card by the club President Archie Bryden as a thank you for her service to the Club in this capacity as Treasurer for the last 11 years.
In her annual report Jan reported a loss of just £11 pounds for the year November 2021 to October 2022 (inclusive). The main reason for this loss was the payment of double Honoria covering the two years 2020 and 2021 during the Covid pandemic period – this was agreed and paid at the 2022 AGM.
Committee members elected were – Andy Mayren, Linzi Mayren, Elaine Norton, Kerrie Couzens, Gill Beckwith, Eleanor Boote, Paul Sutcliffe, John Howard, Chrissy Howard, Chris Wibberley, Kay Aspin, Dave Heyes
Tec & Elaine Norton were elected Life Vice Presidents of the Club.
Members also voted for their choice of judges for the two Open Shows in 2024 – the two judges elected are Roisin Stewart for the show on 21st January and Claire Crossman for the show on the 19th October.
Subsequent to the meeting Diane Courtney joined the committee.
