The sponsored walk held on the 9th of September 2018 in aid of the SBT Rescue run by Barbara Green raised a handsome total of £2665 for the Rescue funds.
The NW Club and Barbara thank all the sponsors for their contributions to an incredible total and also to the participants pictured above (plus Michaela & Josh Riley and family who arrived late and missed the photo opportunity).
One of the sponsors is well deserving of mention and he is Walter Slater from Farnworth who donated £1000, yes a thousand pounds!!
With this amount in her locker Barbara herself collected the most cash – well done her and for anybody who doesn’t know her, she’s the youthful looking lady on the far right with her even more youthful dog Rebel.
The walk – where town meets country – is on the rural northern fringe of Burnley at Reedley Hallows and takes you along the Leeds/Liverpool canal towpath; followed by a riverside path; then along country roads and through woods and finally back to the Marina.
