NWSBTC – 2020 AGM

The Club held the AGM on 26th January 2020

In his opening remarks the Chairman Tec Norton stressed the need to pull together to find ways of  steering the Club through these challenging times of low show entries and puppy registrations to come out the other side as a top, top club. On the positive side eight of the 20 Champions made up in 2019 are owned by NW Club members – details of these Champions are included in the NW Highlights 2019.

The Treasurer Jan Matthews reported a small loss for the year (2019) despite the club holding a Champ show. She explained that the Club incurred some one-off expenditure – mainly show equipment causing expenditure to rise, whilst a disappointing entry at the Ch Show reduced the income.

Les Aspin decided to call it a day, so Kay, our President for the last decade (and more) also retired.  The Club very much appreciates the contribution that the Aspins have made over many years.

Archie Bryden was elected to President  and all the other Officers were re-elected un-opposed; as far as  the Committee is concerned Ray & Jan Wilson both stood down (in mid term) and the Club thanks them for their efforts over recent years.  Otherwise, the remaining committee members were re-elected, along with two new ones – Jessica Farrimond and Tony Webster – welcome aboard you two.

Three propositions went through;-

1. For prospective judges for NW Champ shows the Club requires that said judges do not judge the breed of either sex (in the UK) for a least two years before the date of the show concerned – this replaces the KC minimum time of 18 months between appointments for one sex.

2. For prospective judges for NW Open shows the Club requires that said judges do not judge the Breed at any show for one year and within a radius of 100 miles of Bolton.

3. The NW rule that “committee members from other SBT breed clubs cannot serve on the NW committee at the same time” was rescinded.

Judges elected to judge the NW Champ show in 2022 are Steve Simpson and Paul Quinn.

Judges elected to judge the NW Open shows in 2021  are Andy Mayren (January 10th) and Jan Matthews (October 24th)
