This show was originally down for our usual April date but due to lack of venue availability (Covid strikes again) the show was put back to a summer date. This allowed us to hold the show at our normal venue at Leigh Sports Village and what a relief that was to return here after a three year+ gap.
The judges were Paul Quinn doing the Bitches and Frank Gough the Dogs, two very experiences judges with a creditable entry of 177 Staffords awaited their appraisal.
Frank was standing in for our very own Steve Simpson who sadly had to step down due to illness, although he was able to attend the show. The ref was Jim Devine.
The North West continues to pursue a policy of improvement as could be witnessed by the quality of prizes on offer not only the main winners – the BIS received a plethora of gifts (opposite) – but also throughout the class placings down to Highly Commended (6th place)
We have to thank Chrissy Howard for all her hard work in putting these prizes (below) together.

I would firstly like to thank all the exhibitors who showed their bitches under me for my judgment on the day. It’s most appreciated in this financial climate, with bills going through the roof and the cost of fuel to do what we all like to do, week in week out. Also the committee and members who voted for me to enable me to judge at this prestigious show, that I enjoyed immensely. Special thanks go out to my ring stewards Elaine and Andy, who kept the procedure running smooth as silk. I found no health issues whatsoever and I would say that our breed is in a great shape health wise. On a show point of view I found a few bitches with misplaced teeth, within narrow underjaws which alarmed me somewhat. Just food for thought when you decide to breed in the future. Most of the bitches were shown in good condition considering we had quite a lot of heat during the week prior to the show, and it is a matter of good timing to avoid the heat to exercise our prized possessions.
