Bitches
Judge: Harry Coble “Surestaff”
How times have changed over the years with regards to entries. I last judged bitches at this show in 1992 with an entry of 230 (doubt if the total entry for dogs and bitches reached this number today). However, one has to accept this lowering of numbers as normal nowadays and I was more than happy with the quality of many of the exhibits. Just as I did back then, I would like to compliment the Committee on a well run show and thank them for the privilege of adjudicating once more.
Minor Puppy – 6(2)
-
Dawkins’ MACHUSI RYHASUREDS BLUEBELL WOOD, NAF, TAF, solid red puppy with decent head shape, nice dark mask, first time out and still very much a baby at just six months but substantially built and well put together. Lovely dark round eye, excellent pigment throughout, clean lip and good bite, well placed rose ears. Good front and shoulders with a level topline which she maintained when moving. Carrying a bit of excess weight but I don’t consider that to be a bad thing at such an early age & therefore wouldn’t penalise. Moved & handled well. BPB & BPIS.

-
Barke’s FELKIRKSTAFF AT STARHAZE, dark brindle, almost nine months and not the build of 1 but nevertheless pleasing on the eye. Attractive head, eye placement good, as was dentition, straight front, body development OK for age, round boned legs with neat feet, short coupled, decent bend of stifle, and correct tail set. Not the confidence or maturity of winner, but time could sort this out. Handed well.

-
Ritchie’s NORTHSALTIRE FORCE INDIA
-
Mitzstaff Mesmerized
Puppy – 9
-
Manito’s DYNASTAFF PURE SCIENCE, lively black brindle, of good breed type. Strong headed pup, round dark piercing eye, good stop, tight lip and large teeth correctly set. Maturing well, true in front, ample rib, good body and shown in tip top condition. She will surely only improve with age and have a promising future. Definitely benefits from an experienced handler (which she has) to get the best out of her as she can be a handful on the move.

-
Reaney’s ROLENSKA KISSES OF FIRE, black brindle with large white blaze from neck down front, feminine head but not lacking strength, correct mouth, dark eyes and neat ears. Straight front, good backend & level topline, would have preferred tighter feet. Moved OK but not quite the overall outline and balance of 1.

-
Murray’s CINFEL MELODIES TINKER.

4/ Aldwych Moon River
5/ Kyroloebis Kat Von Dee
6/ Zieloeson Lus An Bhall At Passernomen
Junior Bitch – 14(2)
-
Holt & Hopwood’s BOLDSTOCK HERE I AM, attractive bl/brindle with white chest and white socks. Stood out in this class, has such ring presence. Good headed bitch, but not overdone, lovely round dark expressive eyes and thin neat rose ears, perfect dentition with large clean teeth. Clean front, shoulder placement good, ample spring of rib and nicely tucked up, also well bend stifles. Presented in fit and hard condition, maintaining a level topline on and off the move. Responds well to handler. Went on to win Yearling, Maiden & Novice classes.

-
Hedges’ ARNHEM NICE AS NINEPENCE, standard size red with large white blaze, possessing a good head with nicely placed ears, dark eyes set wide apart giving pleasing expression, strong foreface, scissor bite. Bodying up well, level topline, powerful hindquarters with good muscle tone. Unlucky to meet 1 in such good form. Moved and handed well.

Molineux’s JEFMORE WINTER SOLICE AT DRUIDHAWK, bl/brindle with obvious virtue, good head shape, correct bite, clean lips, complemented by lovely round dark eye and neat ears. Compact body, straight front, enough rib and short back with a good topine, finished off with strong back end enabling her to move well. Just lacked the maturity of winner.

6/ Kimstaff Sarafina
Maiden – 7(2)

BOLDSTOCK HERE I AM.
-
Campbell & Bourne’s DEROSALSTAFF PRETTY WOMAN, red with white chest & one white stock, aptly named as she had an appealing head with black mask, dark eyes, not the neatest of ears but tidy, good body with wide front, first rate pigmentation, well ribbed and level topline. Would have liked a better tail carriage. Moved and handled well.

-
Dyer’s CADARNBULL SIXTH SENSE

4/ Cwmcalon Lady Million For Gazstaff
5/ Staffash Starlight Dust At Purelleighs
Novice – 5(1)

BOLDSTOCK HERE I AM.
-
Hirst & Bibby’s TARAIEL LORDE, bl/brindle, white chest & white socks, feminine head of good shape, although nowhere as developed as 1, enhanced with dark eyes, neat well placed ears and correct ratio of muzzle to skull. Lacks maturity and is not the most confident of youngsters at present but I’m sure this will change as she gets older. Nice all round bitch who moved well.

-
DEROSALSTAFF PRETTY WOMAN.
-
Cwmcalon Lady Million For Gazstaff
Graduate – 4(1)
-
Williams’ CANAKEY SWEET COOL DELIGHT, predominantly white with red markings, strong headed bitch but retaining a feminine expression, dark round eyes, rose ears and good bite. Well built with a deep chest & nice spring of rib, has a powerful backend enabling her to move soundly, keeping a level topline. Handles well.

-
Fradgley’s ALPORT MISS PRADA, standard bl/brindle with a gleaming coat, head is a good shape with a distinct stop, eyes are round and dark. Front is true with well boned legs and feet slightly turned out, as they should be. Presented in good form. Moved well.

-
Thomas’s CYMCALON LADY MILLION FOR GAZSTAFF

Post Graduate – 14(3)
-
Day & Simpson’s BRIGANAH BLACK CAVIAR, classy topsize bl/brindle with definite appeal, lovely head shape, dark eyes, not the smallest of ears but nicely positioned and carried well, correct scissor bite. Straight front, good shoulders, ample rib and moderate tuck up with good rear end & well bent stifles. Would have preferred tighter feet but with her balance and other qualities, am prepared to forgive this. Moved extremely well holding level topline. Strong contender for RCC.

-
Robinson’s LEGER INIT TO WIN, another nice bl/brindle, similar in outline to winner. Good head, dark eyes, neat ears, keen expression, perfect mouth. Soundly constructed with level topline and strong back end, finished off with pump handle tail which she carried well. Close call, but in the end the deciding factor was the more positive movement of winner today. However, another time perhaps a reverse decision.
-
Desmond’s ELITEBULL ELEGANCE.
4/ Rubericla The Evil Inside At Passernomen
5/ Jewelstaff Miss Chief At Fromestaff
6/ Bullhawk Jessie Jay At Northstaff
Limit – 17(1) Best class of the day with some first rate bitches going cardless.
-
Rogers’ BERRYSTOCK CHARLIE’S ANGEL, quality bl/brindle and what an angel she is. Strength without exaggeration is what comes to mind, excels in head which is clean cut, darkest of eye with a wicked expression, small rose ears perfectly placed and, of course, correct dentition. Her front is straight, short strong neck leading into well placed shoulders, nice length of leg to brisket, short back, pleasing tuck up and level topline. Strong hindquarters with good muscle tone enable her to move with drive. She handled well, was presented in super condition and showed herself to perfection. Well deserved CC.
2. Kaestner & Blacker’s BULLRICHS BURNING HEART, red, more stocky build than 1 but a typy bitch with many positive virtues. Good head with black mask, strong foreface, dark round eyes set to look straight ahead, neat small ears, good bite. Well off for bone and rib, deep brisket and powerful backend. Just felt she was carrying excess weight tended to spoil her overall balance. Was a little unsettled and made her handler work extremely hard for the RCC

-
McPhail’s CH SCORGUIE STOLEN KISSES, bl/brindle, strong head, dark eyes, well pronounced cheek bumps, correct mouth. Good body, nicely rounded front legs with tight feet and well muscled rear end. Moved and handled OK, but a little lethargic.

-
Mayren’s KIRNIASTAFF PAIGE LIL GIZMO

Veteran – 21(11)
-
Hopkins’ CH TRUFFLESTAFF MONIFA KANIKA, bl/brindle who can still turn heads. She hasn’t lost the obvious qualities that enabled her to have such a good winning career. Lovely head shape, length of muzzle to skull ratio good, dark eyes and neat rose ears which she certainly uses to augment her expression. No loss of a shapely body, her hindquarters are strong and well toned and she maintained a level topline standing and on the move. All credit to her owner/breeder for presenting her in such lovely condition
